Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic condition affecting the brain, brain stem, and spinal cord. Common symptoms include numbness and tingling in the arms and legs, difficulty walking, impaired balance, muscle weakness, and visual disturbances.

Research into upper cervical care has looked at the connection between MS and the upper cervical spine. Upper cervical care is not a cure for MS, but published research has pointed to benefits for people managing the condition.

We regularly co-manage MS cases with medical providers and are glad to share exam findings with your care team.

How upper cervical care fits with multiple sclerosis treatment

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic condition affecting the brain, brain stem, and spinal cord. Upper cervical care is not a cure for MS, and it does not replace multiple sclerosis treatment from your medical providers.

We regularly co-manage MS cases with medical providers and are glad to share exam findings with your care team, so upper cervical care and multiple sclerosis treatment can work side by side.

Thermographic scans track how your nervous system responds over time, giving you and your other providers objective information to weigh alongside your multiple sclerosis treatment.

If you would like to explore upper cervical care as part of your multiple sclerosis treatment, the first consultation is complimentary.

Why we see so many MS patients

Dr. Collins has a passion for serving and helping people. He serves on the board of Multiple Sclerosis with his colleagues to continue the studies and research on Multiple Sclerosis. We see many patients in the office suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, potentially debilitating disease that affects the brain, brain stem and spinal cord. MS affects more than one million people around the world.

The most common symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis include numbness and tingling in the arms and legs, difficulty walking, impaired balance, muscle weakness, visual disturbances and memory loss. Your central nervous system contains millions of nerve fibers that carry electrical impulses from your brain and brain stem to almost every tissue, organ and cell within your body. The degenerative process of MS is called demyelination.

What the upper cervical research shows

Some of the newest and most relevant research on upper cervical care has demonstrated the link between MS and the upper cervical spine. Although upper cervical care is not considered a cure for those with MS, the studies demonstrate the extreme benefits for those suffering with this debilitating neurological disease. A study published in 2005 revealed that 100% of the patients with Multiple Sclerosis had a history of upper cervical injuries, whether months old or years old. When the upper cervical spine was corrected, 92% reported positive changes in their symptomatic expression.
