Scottsdale has so many fun activities that you can do throughout the year, it’s no wonder we receive nearly 10 million visitors every year! However, if you’re like many of us locals, you can get so busy with all of the responsibilities that life brings that you forget to stop and enjoy our little slice of heaven for yourselves once in awhile.
So the next time you have a few hours, especially since Spring Break is just around the corner, resist the temptation to turn on Netflix and get out there and enjoy one of these great outings!
McDowell Sonoran Preserve – When the weather is cooler, nothing is more rewarding than getting out and enjoying our local beautiful Sonoran desert mountains. This is an adventure that you can share with your whole family. The preserve has different levels of trails for people of all ages and fitness levels.
A few tips: March/April offer an opportunity to can catch the beautiful wildflowers in bloom, while May should offer blooming Cacti. Always bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and utilize sun protection and remember, we share our backyards and mountains with all sorts of creatures so be aware of them and take care not to provoke or disturb them. Salt River Fields and Scottsdale Stadium – Let’s play two! Quintessential Spring Time Americana in our own backyard is just too good to pass up. Grab a hat and glove and head down to either of our fantastic ballparks to catch the Diamondback, Rockies,or Giants take on the Cactus League! This is definitely a family affair, and with daily games, it’s a great spur of the moment opportunity!
Old Town Scottsdale – The next time you need to run out to do some errands or grab a meal, try making a more leisurely adventure of it and go to Old Town Scottsdale. With some of the best main street USA small business shopping around, this is a gem worth visiting more often. And of course great dining options are around every corner. Not to mention our favorite Family Wellness office, but we may be biased.
Golf – Scottsdale and Golf go hand in hand. Of course we are known for hosting the PGA tournament with the largest attendance every year, but we also have so many amazing opportunities for anyone to play a round of golf or hit a bucket of balls at the driving range. Even if you’ve never played before, take advantage of all our sunny days and embrace the challenge! And since golf is suitable for just about any age, bring the whole family.
